Filmed in Singapore Telemovie To Premiere on Germany's ZDF Channel

Oak3 Films is delighted to announce the premiere of House of Harmony, a 2 part telemovie which was filmed entirely in Singapore will premiere on October 30, 2005 on Germany’s main terrestrial broadcaster, ZDF’s primetime slot to an estimated 8 million viewers.

House of Harmony stars internationally renowned actress Fann Wong, Maggie Q alongside leading German actors such as Daniel Morgenroth and Philippe Brenninkmeyer

Set against the feudalistic background of tradition versus love, House of Harmony is a lavish adaptation of Barbara Woods’ best selling novel, set in the 1920s and 1950s between Singapore and Los Angeles. This is a bittersweet story that spans over three decades and two generations of love lost and found. The courageous heroines triumph over aged old traditions, racial prejudices and families’ rejection and sacrifice everything to be with the men they love. Their turbulent love stories, ignites revenge, anger and betrayal until the sizzling climax when family secrets are revealed and relationships tested.

House of Harmony is a co-production between Germany’s FFP New Media and Oak3 Films at a budget of SGD $7 million. Riding on the successful collaboration for their first ever German-Singapore co-production, The House of Harmony, FFP New Media and Oak3 Films has signed a MOU at MIPTV in April 2005 to co-produce another three telemovies over the next three years.

Oak3 Films has established a reputation for high quality work in the region. The Gods Must Be Hungry, a documentary co-produced with Discovery Asia, broke new ground in 2003 when it was rated the programme with the highest viewership in 10 years for Discovery Asia. Gods Must be Hungry is now distributed by UK distributor Electric Sky. Other international co productions with Discovery Asia includes Fun Taiwan, a 13 episode Travel and Adventure program and most recently we completed an episode for the prestigious Caltex Crossings Belt on Discovery Asia entitled, Crossings - Ju Ming, which is a biography of a Taiwanese sculptor.

At the same time Sense of Danger, a documentary coproduction with Eikon Media GmbH (Germany) for ARTE channel (Germany and France) shot in Thailand, Japan, Germany and America will also be launched at MIPCOM 2005 and will be distributed by Electric Sky (United Kingdom). This documentary explores the phenomenon of how animals around the world use their innate abilities to predict natural disasters, such as the 2004 Tsunami in Thailand and the 1975 earthquake in China, the only major earthquake in history predicted by animal instinct which saved 200,000 lives.

Also, currently in production development includes a 10-episode documentary, The Difference, with ESPN STAR Sports, which is a first for a Singaporean production house to work on a documentary series for ESPN STAR locally. We are also currently working on a pilot animation series, 3 Feet Apart, whose original short film won The Best Asian Short Animation Film at the 2004 Bangkok Film Festival. The animated series, 3 Feet Apart has generated interest from several international channels and distributors
