Chee Kong Keah also known as CheeK is a creative professional with vast experience in entertainment, films and television production in Asia. Beginning his career with the former Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, he went on to be the Creative Director for major entertainment events and companies like MTV Japan (as Senior Vice President and Creative Director). Additionally he also held senior management positions in MTV Asia and STAR TV Hong Kong (as Executive Vice President). He writes, produces and directs short, feature films, TV series and music videos. His debut feature film Chicken Rice War garnered a few international awards, including the Discovery Award at the 2001 Toronto International Film Festival. The National Arts Council of Singapore awarded him the Young Artist (Film) Award in the same year. He created the 13 part TV series, The Kitchen Musical which he co-wrote and directed. This genre-busting TV series fuses drama, music, food and dance into a delectable dish. It was nominated for two International Emmy Awards in 2012 in the Drama Series and Best Performance by an Actor categories. It also won Gold World Medal for Best Writing and Bronze World Medal for Best Performance at the 2012 New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards.
