With over 15 years of experience working in television, Mak Chun Kit (Mak CK) has filmed in 28 countries across 5 continents. He has directed and produced over 35 factual TV series and documentaries for international broadcasters including Fox International Channels Asia (National Geographic Channel and Star World), A+E Networks Asia (History, Lifetime and BIO), Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, Disney Channel Asia, MTV Asia and Channel NewsAsia. His multiple wins at the New York Festivals Television and Film Awards include a Best Direction Silver World Medal for CHINA CLOSE-UP in 2014.

His debut feature documentary, The World's Most Fashionable Prison, about a fashion rehabilitation programme in the Philippine's largest maximum security prison, participated at Crossing Borders 2010 workshop organised by European Documentary Network and Documentary Campus. The documentary was an official selection at 18 film festivals including the prestigious Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival 2012.

His second feature film, Little People Big Dreams, about a little people theme park in China, was selected for the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program | CNEX Workshop and Documentary Summit 2014, and won the Best Pitch Award at CNEX Chinese Doc Forum 2014. It made its world premiere at the acclaimed CPH:DOX Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival 2014, was in competition at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2015, won the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary Feature at the Lighthouse International Film Festival 2015, Best Social Awareness Programme at the Asian Television Awards 2015, and a Gold World Medal for Documentaries at the New York Festivals Television and Film Awards 2016.
