Overview

Data Science Dojo is a paradigm shift in data science learning. We offer short-term, in-person, hands-on data science training that will get you started with practical data science in just one week.

Learn and apply data science. 10 hours a day for 5 days. Our carefully crafted curriculum provides the right mix of theory, hands-on labs, math, science and engineering. Our experienced instructors bring anecdotes from frontlines to solidify learning.
  • Learn the theory and practice of data science and engineering using state of the art tools
  • Explore, visualize, and cluster data
  • Build and evaluate predictive models for classification and regression
  • Design online experiments
  • Build an end-to-end internet of things (IoT) solution
  • Be exposed to a variety of technologies: Hive, Hadoop, Mahout, Spark, stream processors and data ingestors
  • Participate in a Kaggle competition

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the bootcamp, every attendee will be able to:
  • Explore an unknown dataset
  • Build, evaluate, fine-tune and deploy a predictive model as a service
  • Build an end-to-end big data pipeline to handle large volumes of data - even if the data is arriving in real time

Who should Attend?

  • Everyone is welcome to attend our bootcamp! Our attendees come from diverse backgrounds. They are software developers, program/product managers, management consultants, financial/business/data analysts, academic researchers, geophysicists, geochemists, policy analysts, engineers, statisticians – even veterinarians and medical doctors have successfully completed the bootcamp.

Eligibility Criteria

  • While we do recommend having knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language or computing environment, many of our attendees come to us with little to no experience with programming. Our pre-bootcamp coursework includes tutorials on Introduction to R Programming to get you ramped up for the bootcamp!
