Cloud Native introduces the compelling reasons for a migration to the cloud native architecture in transforming businesses that are already on the digital platform. This module demonstrates the advantages, potential pitfalls and successful implementation strategies through real-world examples of how Cloud Native have helped other organisations achieve global scales, higher productivity, reduced operating costs and higher sales.

Microservices guides operations executives through the fundamental principles of microservice architectures and general execution strategies when adopting them.

Container Management delves into the origins of container technology and the critical impact it has had and continues to have on the world of digital service delivery.

DevOps: Critical Tools and Strategies introduces successful implementation strategies through real-world examples of how Cloud Native have helped other organisations achieve global scales, higher productivity, reduced operating costs and higher sales.

Cloud Architecture equips you with the fundamentals of cloud architecture and introduces you to some of the important tools and services that comprise a fraction of the functionality today’s cloud vendor ecosystem has to offer.

Migrating to the Cloud introduces you to best practices and considerations as you think about how to start (a) refactoring your monolithic applications into microservice; or (b) experimenting with microservices that can augment existing applications.

Learning Outcome

This module is a bootcamp that combines and condenses the 5 topics typically used in a journey to GoCloudNative:
  1. Microservices – Basic Features, Benefits and Challenges, Effective Implementation, and Twelve-Factor
  2. Container and Docker Management- Understanding, Managing, and Implementing Containers in CloudNative solution
  3. DevOps Training – Understanding DevOps as a strategy for CI/CD process (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery)
  4. Cloud Architecture – Discover the world of cloud service providers in on-premise cloud, private-hosted cloud, hybrid cloud and multi-cloud solutions. Understand the constraints of CSP architecture, such as “vendor lock-in” and portability of cloud solutions in migrating to international and regional business markets.
  5. Migration from Monolithic to a Microservices Architecture – Explain the “6R” Strategies for Migration; and understand the various open source tools and services available

Who should Attend?

This course is intended for ICT Vendors (CXOs and operations staff), and non-ICT SMEs (SME bosses and leaders, CXOs and IT managers) who are keen to embark on a Cloud Native journey:
  • Executives and business decision makers evaluating the potential of transforming traditional software architecture and development practices to applications deployed and delivered as Cloud-Native applications using Microservices and DevOps, so that they can be more agile, flexible and scalable
  • Provides the core foundational knowledge in planning to deploy applications and create application environments on the multi-cloud platform to grow their businesses
  • Developers, systems operations professionals, and solution architects getting started with the Google Cloud Platform as well as data scientists and engineers wanting to learn more about cloud architecture in a multi-cloud platform environment

    Eligibility Criteria

    In order to fully participate in this programme, participants are presumed to be able to be:
    • Familiar with the Linux Operating System environment, with the experience of a System Administrator. The Cloud Operating environment borrows heavily from the Linux/Unix environment, particularly the Command Line Interface (CLI) and scripting
    • Familiar with the Cloud Operating environment, with the experience of an Administrator, i.e. able to plan and provision services in the Cloud and able to diagnose and resolve issues in the Cloud services.
    • Familiar with at least one high-level programming language.
    • Familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC).
    The participants with Cloud Ready experience are fully aligned to extend to the Cloud Native experience in this programme
