ABOUT THE EVENT
Launched in 1996, Asian Television Awards (ATA) is the Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event, recognising excellence in programming, production and performance.
In its 22nd edition this year, ATA continues to encourage content creators in Asia to present the world’s best stories, acknowledge and reward creative and programming excellence.
In 2016, ATA has expanded its footprint with the live and delayed telecasts with an increase in 8 channels, bringing the number of broadcast platforms to 21 channels, reaching more than half a billion viewers across Asia and beyond.
2017 will see a new category introduced – Best Scriptwriting for Web Programming / Series and this adds up to a total of 42 categories across a variety of genres and performance segments. Some key awards presented during the two nights are, Best Actor/Actress in a Leading Role, Best Original Screenplay, Best Drama Series and Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
Mandopop singer, Bii, will be performing at the 22nd edition of the Asian Television Awards, which will take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre Level 6 on Friday, 1 December 2017. The Taiwanese-Korean male artiste is currently in the running at the 2017 MTV EMAs under the “BEST MAINLAND CHINA / HONG KONG / TAIWAN ACT” category.
Kim Jong Kook
Bii will be joined by world class acts such as popular Indonesian superstar, Afgansyah Reza, renowned international electronic artist, GG Magree, who will be performing in Singapore for the first time, Singapore’s Joanna Dong, who finished third in this year’s “Sing! China” and Kim Jong-kook (South Korea), who is best known as the host of the popular variety show, “Running Man”.
Hosts for the awards show include Baki Zainal from Malaysia, Stephanie Carrington who is based in Singapore as well as Wang Li Huan from Chinese broadcaster Shanghai Media Group.
