ABOUT THE EVENT
Launched in 1996, Asian Television Awards (ATA) is the Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event, recognising excellence in programming, production and performance.
In its 22nd edition this year, ATA continues to encourage content creators in Asia to present the world’s best stories, acknowledge and reward creative and programming excellence.
In 2016, ATA has expanded its footprint with the live and delayed telecasts with an increase in 8 channels, bringing the number of broadcast platforms to 21 channels, reaching more than half a billion viewers across Asia and beyond.

Award-winning Indonesian pop-singer and actor, Afgansyah Reza has confirmed his attendance for this year’s awards show.
- Afgan will be performing during the “live” televised segment of the awards ceremony happening on 1 December 2017 at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. Afgan has bagged a number of awards which includes Male Artist of the Year from MTV Ampuh in 2008 and 2010, Best Album and Best Male Artist from Anugerah Planet Muzik 2009, and Best Solo Male Singer from the AMI Awards in 2012.
- 2017 will see a new category introduced – Best Scriptwriting for Web Programming / Series and this adds up to a total of 42 categories across a variety of genres and performance segments. Some key awards presented during the two nights are, Best Actor/Actress in a Leading Role, Best Original Screenplay, Best Drama Series and Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year.
