Get pumped because Singapore Comic Con - SGCC is set to join #SGMediaFest for the first time, and it's celebrating the discovery of regional talent
Amongst a slew of exciting activities happening at #SGCC2019 will be the newly minted Work in Progress Programme.
The new initiative will provide aspiring comic writers a platform to submit their original content ideas for a chance to be matched to publishing houses such as Asiapac Books, Shogakukan Asia and Vividthree Productions + DarkBox Studio.

We're proud to announce that VidCon - the world's largest online video convention - will be joining us on 3rd and 4th Dec this year! The launch of #VidConAsia demonstrates the vibrant growth and universality of the digital creative community, anchoring Singapore as a regional hub for the industry.

“It will be the first time that we’ll be commissioning short films from filmmakers in Southeast Asia - many of them very young and dynamic voices” shares Boo Junfeng, Vice Chairman of the Singapore International Film Festival - SGIFF.
The 30th edition of SGIFF will be #CelebratingAsianStorytelling with an exciting line-up of film screenings including the world premiere of 3 commissioned short films - Incantation by Singaporean director Yeo Siew Hua, Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue by Indonesian director Mouly Surya and Not a Time to Celebrate by Thai director Anucha Boonyawatana.
Also happening this year is SGIFF's Focus programme titled Stories We Tell: Myth, Dreamscape and Memory in Southeast Asian Cinema which spotlights the imaginative storytelling of filmmakers from the region through 4 film screenings - including Singaporean film Lucky 7 (2008). An omnibus of 7 shorts directed by 7 Singaporean filmmakers (Sun Koh, Director K.Rajagopal, Boo Junfeng, Brian Gothong Tan, Chew Tze Chuan, Ho Tzu Nyen and Tania Sng), the film was pieced together with each director only being aware of what had happened in the preceding short’s final minute

#AsiaTVForum's 20th anniversary theme “Streaming the Future” is #CelebratingAsianStorytelling with the region's biggest gathering of streaming platforms that include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, WeTV Thailand and Hotpot.tv.

ScreenSingapore's Southeast Asian Film Financing (SAFF) Project Market returns to #SGMediaFest 2019, connecting promising film concepts with potential investors and financiers!
Successful projects from previous SAFF Project Market editions include Laotian Director Mattie Do's highly-acclaimed film The Long Walk - which was recently screened at the Venice International Film Festival (La Biennale di Venezia) and TIFF
This year, the SAFF Project Market will shortlist 15 project ideas from 85 submissions, providing Southeast Asian filmmakers the opportunity to realise promising film concepts.
Like Ling Teo, Co-Founder and Director, Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association (SAAVA) says, "it’s all about possibilities, and people taking that step to realise those possibilities."

Roll out the red carpet as the Asian Academy Creative Awards swoops in this year with an exciting raft of broadcasters and celebrity appearances - including The Story of Yanxi Palace star Lawrence Wong 王冠逸!
This year, E! Entertainment will be broadcasting a full hour of "E! on the Asian Academy Creative Awards Red Carpet" with host Yvette King, across 34 countries including Vietnam and the Philippines. Regional streaming service HOOQ, BHD's Danet Vietnam, Malaysia's tonton, Mediacorp's Toggle and Hong Kong broadcaster ViuTV will also be screening both nights of the awards across the region.
