The third edition of the festival looks forward to welcome some 20,000 thought-leaders and key players in the various aspects of media and content production community and members of the public from Singapore and around the world in the next 17 festival days.

In addition to celebrating the best of Asian storytelling, the festival will create new content creation opportunities while also focusing on nurturing a new generation of Asian storytellers that is capable of telling compelling stories across various genres and platforms. A particular spotlight will also be placed on the rapid convergence of media and technology in propelling the industry forward in an increasingly digitised world.

In his opening address, Chief Executive of Singapore’s Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA), Mr Gabriel Lim, said, “IMDA brings the science of infocomm and the art of media together to create new opportunities and possibilities that allow us to build towards a future for Singapore.”

Launching for the first this year is the SMF Festival Square - an oasis for trade delegates and festival participants to dine, relax and network. Located at the heart of the city at CHIJMES, festivalgoers will enjoy exclusive discounts and privileges at selected F&B establishments and be able to participate in exciting programmes such as screenings, fun interactive activities and contests that will also be open to all members of the public.
