Use Case 1: Tailings Dam Monitoring – Australia
Ackcio Beam was used to acquire and transmit data from sensors monitoring a tailings dam for a gold processing facility in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
For this tailings dam, our client installed piezometers to monitor pore water pressure. Monitoring of these piezometers would be costly and impractical with traditional cable-based or manual monitoring systems due to the remote location and vast area. Our client opted to use Ackcio Beam. Ackcio Vibrating Wire 1-Sensor Nodes were deployed to transmit readings from the Piezometers to Ackcio Gateway every 30 minutes.
In-place inclinometers will be installed to monitor embankment deformation of the dam. Ackcio Digital Nodes will be deployed to monitor these inclinometers. Ackcio Beam’s highly scalable system allows these new Nodes to transmit data to the same Gateway.
By using Ackcio Beam, our client obtained regular real-time readings from a robust and reliable wireless monitoring system. This led to their increased awareness of the dam’s stability and alleviated the high labour costs of manual or semi-automated monitoring for a large geographical area.
The flexibility and scalability of the system made it easy to expand the monitoring network by adding nodes for MEMS, in-place inclinometer sensor chains, seamlessly integrating into the existing Ackcio system.
Use Case 2: Xinzhuang Depot - Taiwan
Taipei Metro recently began construction on Xinzhuang Depot in the Xinzhuang MRT Station. The construction site lies within a zone where soil integrity is highly unstable. To address this issue, our client was appointed to monitor the ground and structure for abnormalities and discern site displacements and tilts, by using MEMS tiltmeters and LVDT sensors.
Monitoring these sensors is essential, but both cable-based and manual monitoring systems were deemed unfeasible. The former came with the risk of cable damage posed by the tunnel that would result in high maintenance costs, and the latter would lead to significant time consumption, high probability of inaccurate readings, access difficulty, and considerable risk to worker safety.
Our client opted to use Ackcio Beam for wireless monitoring. Ackcio Analogue 4-Sensor Nodes were deployed in the train tunnel to transmit tilt and LVDT sensor data to a single Gateway mounted above ground. Due to the low signal range within the tunnel, Relay Nodes were installed to ensure reliable data transmission from Analogue Nodes to the Gateway.
Our automated wireless monitoring system uploaded accurate and reliable data in real time to our client’s server at less than half the cost of a cable-based or manual monitoring solution.
Use Case 1: Ransomware Caught In Healthcare
This type of attacks can do a great deal of damage very quickly. It attack the victim’s system, encrypting or compromising files on the host, and accessible file shares, then spreads to other hosts. Attivo Networks – Deception solution is proven to derail ransomware attacks by luring the malware out from their hiding. This is accomplished using decoy systems, including network file shares, and the placement of deceptive assets on the endpoints, including deceptive credentials and fake file shares. As these attacks will typically attack both local and network files, they will also engage assets stored on the BOTsink server. Once that happened, any activities will immediately trigger an alert while keeping the attacker engaged within the deception environment. This will serve as early warning alerts and provides the incident response team time to react.
Use Case 2: Active Directory (AD) Attacks in Financial Institution
By design, Active Directory (AD) will readily exchange information with any member system it manages. This is exploited by attackers to extract information on the entire domain easily. Security teams may not realize that attacks on AD are occurring because such activities will appear as if AD is providing the data to a member system.
Knowing this challenge, the Attivo Networks – ADSecure module provides a new approach to preventing cyber criminals from successfully reaching and compromising AD. It uses deception technology to accurately detect and derail the lateral movement of attacks. Once deployed, the ADSecure will respond to malicious queries attempting to harvest AD data. The solution counter the AD attack by replying with deceptive data, hiding the privileged credentials, and altering real credentials values. With ADSecure, organizations can efficiently intercept advanced attacks (APTs) and remediate accurately.
Use Case 1: EngageRocket x EZ-Link
How EZ-Link adopted continuous listening to build a unified company culture and retain talent In their quest to build better employee experiences, EZ-Link’s HR team partnered with EngageRocket in 2019 to strengthen the foundation of their HR strategy by implementing a continuous listening program. Instead of relying on unsubstantiated gut-feel, EZ-Link decided to embark on a data-driven approach.
EZ-Link launched its first employee engagement and Peer Feedback in 2019. Both inaugural launches collected a notable participation rate of 87% and 100% respectively, which provided the HR Team a representative sample of statistical data to draw quality insights about the population. EngageRocket’s Belong module enables EZ-link’s team to seamlessly run automated pulse surveys, collect data on employee engagement and help the team with designing data-backed strategies to enhance corporate culture. Use Case 2: EngageRocket x EM Services
How EM Services attracts and retains talents thanks to real-time people analytics
EM Services has established a strong track record in the management of townships and properties across Singapore. Currently, the company manages ten of Singapore’s sixteen townships which covers approximately 700,000 HDB residential units and 9,000 retail and shop units.
With the ethos of Getting It Right Together, EM Services aspires to provide the best experience to their most valuable assets, employees. Knowing that providing a better workplace will have a positive impact on engagement, EM Services looked to technology for a solution to measure and analyse employee feedback in real-time. Use Case 1: Dynamic Mapping of Maritime Emissions with the Baltic Exchange
GeoSpock partnered with the Baltic Exchange, a leading maritime services organisation and wholly owned subsidiary of the Singapore Exchange, to build an advanced repository of maritime emissions information for mapping and analysis.
GeoSpock combined 5 years of global maritime AIS tracking data with advanced emissions modelling techniques to generate an interactive database of maritime emissions. By interacting with the database, users are able to generate dynamic maps and analysis of the emissions footprint of the commercial maritime fleet at local, regional and global levels. Emissions figures are provided for greenhouse gases such as CO2 as well as those with specific public health impacts such as SOx and NOx.
As the main datastore and query engine underpinning the maritime repository, GeoSpock DB’s ability to provide rapid, scalable analytics on large and ever-growing data volumes such as that generated by maritime vessel tracking was key to creating a flexible platform for emissions analysis and visualisation.
The repository is an important step towards measuring the impacts of maritime emissions on public health in port cities, as well as quantifying and correctly apportioning carbon emissions within the maritime supply chain.
Use Case 2: Smart Cambridge congestion reduction
GeoSpock worked with Smart Cambridge and Cambridgeshire County Council to examine traffic congestion hotspots within the historic UK city to help inform transport infrastructure investment and development.
GeoSpock ingested Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) data into GeoSpock DB to build a database of traffic patterns for Cambridge city centre, with a particular focus on understanding commuter patterns into the city from major out of town trunk roads.
Using GeoSpock DB, the Smart Cambridge team was able to rapidly query the complex traffic data for further analysis. Major insights included information relating to the mix of private and goods delivery vehicles using the road during rush hour periods, which was used to recommend new restrictions on delivery vehicles at certain times of day. Hotspot areas where traffic regularly exceeded roadway capacity were also identified for future infrastructure development and improvement.
GeoSpock DB’s ability to ingest a wide variety of datasets and fuse them together for complex analysis is also helping drive the development of new, mobility-as-a-service innovations in the Cambridge region, with a focus on making transport cleaner and more efficient for all.
Use Case 1: Samsung, Thales, SMRT
In view of the accidents that happened within work environments, particularly in industries where engineers/work site operators needed to be tracked for overall safety benchmarking, VIATICK and Samsung partnered to merge active tracking that can be used both outdoors and indoors.
In a pilot with Thales and SMRT to enable real time tracking of engineers within the railway tunnel, VIATICK integrated its AI signals tracking engine into the Samsung S3 Gear, where the smart watch will prompt an engineer when he wanders into an unauthorised area/ dangerous area with live currents not switched off on the tracks.
Engineers were able to use quick commands on the smart watch to respond back to a command platform that displays the statuses of the Engineers. This was the first time where indoor tracking via Bluetooth has been executed and seen live, within the railway tunnels in Singapore.
Use Case 2: World Dream Cruise
VIATICK’s technology was used to enable the automatic attestation of assurance, where active tracking of all personnel (passengers and crew) on a cruise ship is constantly being done through multi purpose wearables.
One of the main criteria that The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of different countries expect from Cruise ships that are sailing in and out of the different berths, before allowing a passenger sail, is the ability to track down and isolate the people of interests that are in close contact with a suspected case.
Through VIATICK, World Dream Cruise was able to have a central platform that has live control and oversight of all interactions between passengers and crew. Data collection and processing was done through VIATICK’s AI engine that sorts, filters, and enables immediate identification of “at-risk” persons of interests without having to isolate the whole cruise.
In addition, movement tracking data of all personnel was used to actively perform capacity management and historical movement logging to provide business insights that were difficult to consolidate prior.
The scalability of what VIATICK’s core technology provided also enabled World Dream Cruise to look at the possibility of combining other IoT and business data points seamlessly; something that has been traditionally difficult to achieve in the IoT world that is often mired with high infrastructure cost and difficult integration paths.
Use Case 1: China Comms Construction (CCC) – Smart City
CCC is responsible for city planning. To facilitate its decision-making process, CCC had to collect data from various state departments such as Traffic Control, Security, Urban Planning, Utilities, Public Assets, Social Sector, Healthcare, Tourism and Civil Defence. This was a manual and labour-intensive cross-functional collaboration process, resulting in the loss of initial value of the perishable data collected to make beneficial decisions.
Virspatial created a 1:1 digital twin of the city that integrated all the different data sources into a single 3D-platform. This allows the presentation of real-time data from a command centre. We equipped CCC with simulation capabilities to test their proposals in the digital world. CCC could also keep track of their city development in real-time. Digital twin helped to increase their efficiency in city planning with optimal usage of manpower and cost.
Use Case 2: Nokia – 5G Production line
Nokia had made a strategic decision to build a 5G production line to showcase their manufacturing capabilities and technology. The plant occupies a floor area of 2.5km2 and uses a vast number of 5G IOT devices that work independently. To showcase their new plant to potential clients in an efficient manner, Nokia approached Virspatial to create a digital twin of their production lines.
The digital twin dynamic platform also enabled Nokia with new capabilities to run simulations for future production, execute predictive maintenance and optimise facilities management in the areas of energy and manpower usage. This helped Nokia improve its sales, reduce their operating costs and allow potential clients to gain a better understanding of their portfolio.
Republic Polytechnic (RP) selected X0PA AI to enhance the placement process for RP’s internship programme.
Republic Polytechnic faced the challenge of trying to match students to companies, taking into consideration students’ capabilities and preferences while fulfilling the companies’ requirements. With its proprietary two-way matching algorithm, X0PA has played an important role in facilitating/automating the matching and placement process for internships. X0PA’s software system is able to include the interests and preferences of students, ensuring that students find the best suited internships while employers get the best talents for their internships.
The X0PA’s software system digitizes each step of the hiring process from job postings, video interviewing, video scheduling, email automation, right up to the stage of digital management of internships making the process efficient and seamless for both the student candidates and employers, as well as for Republic Polytechnic in managing the placement process.
RP has been working with X0PA since January 2020. X0PA’s software system facilitated the registration of 200 companies. Over a 3-month period, 4000 applications were processed by the system. Eventually, all 450 students (due for internship) were successfully placed with the companies.
