First Asian-Focused Broadband Web Portal in the U.S. Delivers New Level of Interactive Multimedia Content

Singapore ONE, the world's first nationwide broadband network, announced the U.S. launch of FastAsia.com, a broadband portal that provides multimedia content and current information about Asia to broadband and Internet users.

Singapore ONE, the world's first nationwide broadband network, announced the U.S. launch of FastAsia.com, a broadband portal that provides multimedia content and current information about Asia to broadband and Internet users.

Offering its visitors access to a variety of Asian content, FastAsia includes entertainment and news on-demand, multimedia learning, and streaming audio and video. With high-speed and high-capacity broadband features, the portal also has an Asian virtual community focus, giving users access to approximately 100,000 registered Asian members.

"Fast-Asia is designed to facilitate communication and provide information to those interested in keeping a watchful eye on Asia, whether for personal or business purposes," said Michael Yap, Chief Executive, Singapore National Computer Board. "FastAsia users can exploit richer, exciting and highly interactive content as broadband continues to become more prevalent in the U.S. We are also pursuing agreements with other broadband networks to facilitate direct access FastAsia content."

FastAsia is hosted on the @Home Network, a U.S. cable Internet service provider based in Redwood City, Calif. The site is also open to Internet users and can be found at www.fastasia.com.

Singapore ONE's aim is to make FastAsia the premier broadband portal for Asian content. Singapore ONE encourages companies looking for a platform t deliver Asian content - especially broadband content - to work with them.
