The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has today issued a public consultation on the proposed consolidation involving StarHub and SCV. The comments received will assist IDA in assessing the competitive impact of the proposed consolidation. IDA invites the public to submit any information that they believe will assist IDA in determining whether the proposed consolidation would unreasonably restrict competition in any market that StarHub and SCV compete.
This consultation exercise is part of IDA's on-going effort in engaging the public in its decision-making process and to increase regulatory transparency.
All views and comments should be submitted in writing, and to reach IDA not later than 5pm, 31 May 2002. IDA will consider the inputs submitted and make its policy decision thereafter. The consultation paper can be downloaded from the Policy & Regulation section, under "Mergers and Acquisitions" of the IDA website at https://www.imda.gov.sg/.
