IDA and AITI Sign MOU on ICT Collaboration

10 October 2007 - The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on various aspects of ICT including the use of ICT in key economic sectors and cooperation on projects to be implemented by both agencies.

Cooperation on Initiatives to Boost ICT Sectors in Both Countries

The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on various aspects of ICT including the use of ICT in key economic sectors and cooperation on projects to be implemented by both agencies.

The scope of the MOU will include exchanging of information and experience on ICT matters. Both parties may identify ICT projects to collaborate on and ICT companies from both countries will be able to participate in these projects.

On the signing of the MOU, IDA’s Deputy Chief Executive, Mr Leong Keng Thai is confident that it will increase opportunities for exchanges and further business and technology partnerships between the ICT sectors of both countries. “This MOU will strengthen ICT partnership between IDA and AITI. Both parties will gain tremendously from the sharing of experience in the area of ICT adoption in government and various economic sectors. The private sector will benefit from the implementation of projects under the MOU.”

Pengiran Hj Mohd Salleh bin Pg Aji, Assistant Chief Executive of AITI, considers the signing of this MOU as another milestone to cement the strong relations between AITI and IDA and looks forward to fruitful collaboration under this MOU.

The MOU was signed in Singapore earlier today by IDA’s Deputy Chief Executive Mr Leong Keng Thai and AITI’s Assistant Chief Executive Pengiran Hj Mohd Salleh bin Pg Hj Aji.
