Singapore and Oman Seal Co-operation in Infocomm Technology

IDA and ITA sign MOU for Infocomm Technology (ICT) Collaboration

Bilateral relations between the Republic of Singapore and the Sultanate of Oman are further strengthened today with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) inked to co-operate on initiatives to develop the ICT sectors in both countries. This co-operation will further trade, investment, business and technology partnerships.

The MOU was signed by Mr CHAN Yeng Kit, Chief Executive Officer of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Dr Salim Al Ruzaiqi, Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of the Sultanate of Oman.

Both IDA and ITA will collaborate on various aspects of ICT, specifically in the use of ICT in government and economic sectors such as education, healthcare, finance and tourism. Both parties will share experience and knowledge and explore co-operation on projects which will be implemented by both the public and private sectors. This will further accelerate the development and adoption of ICT in both states.

Mr Chan said “Singapore and Oman share similar goals in ICT developments and our commitment to incorporate ICT into every aspects of life. This will help spur socio-economic development and build competitive edge for both countries”.

Dr LEE Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts of the Republic of Singapore and H.E. Ahmed bin Abdul Nabi Macki, Minister for National Economy of the Sultanate of Oman witnessed the signing of the MOU at the Ministry of National Economy in Oman.
