12 November 2015 - Avid gamers can do their part for charity while stocking up on local games. Customers can also decide the proportion that will go to charity.

Avid gamers can do their part for charity while stocking up on local games starting tomorrow. The special Humble Weekly Bundle: Made in Singapore promotion will be launched via Humble Bundle, a popular US-based digital storefront that sells bundles of games at a price that the customer chooses. Customers can also decide the proportion that will go to charity.

The charity initiative, the first-of-its-kind in Singapore, brings together local game developers to market up to 9 premium games for a meaningful cause, while raising the profile of local games. The bundled titles worth more than US$78 (approximately more than S$100) include a mix of mobile and PC games. Titles include established Singapore games that have won international awards and recognition, such as Ludochip's Cubetractor ("Best Game" Award at the Independent Games Festival (IGF) China 2012) and Touch Dimension's Autumn Dynasty (ranked the Number 1 strategy game in 28 countries in 2012). Also included in the bundle are popular games by promising local game developers such as Witching Hour Studios (Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion, 2015), and Daylight Studios (Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?!, 2015). The list of Singapore games available on Humble Bundle is in Annex A (281.40KB).

MDA facilitated the tie-up between the Singapore game developers with Humble Bundle to launch the special campaign. Mr Joachim Ng, Director of Industry Operations at MDA said, "Our goal is to get more people in Singapore and beyond to discover the quality games and hidden gems created by our very own game developers. We hope that Singaporeans will show strong support for our local talent and works, and be able to give back to society at the same time through this meaningful initiative."

The offer will be available for one week from 13 till 20 November. Interested members of the public can purchase the games from Humble Bundle's website, at a pay-what-you-want price.

A portion of the proceeds from the campaign will go towards Community Chest's Care & Share @ SG50 Movement, a national fund-raising and volunteerism movement. As part of the movement, eligible donations raised will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the government. The matched amount will go towards building the capabilities of the social service sector and support the rising needs for social services.

Ms Ng Ling Ling, Managing Director of Community Chest, said, "This innovative partnership with MDA to raise funds is a great way to bring together the gaming community to support local talent while at the same time do good. Contributions from this digital initiative will go a long way in helping those in need overcome their challenges."

The campaign was launched at the sidelines of Gamestart Asia 2015, where a total of 16 Singapore game companies were part of the Singapore Pavilion managed by the Games Solutions Centre (GSC) to showcase a preview of their games at the event. The made-in-Singapore edition games are available for purchase from Humble Bundle's website at https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly. The campaign will go live on the site on 13 November, after 3am Singapore time.
