In view of requests from the industry for more time to submit their views and comments, IMDA has extended the submission deadline for this consultation to 12 noon, 19 March 2021.

IMDA has updated Annex A on the Draft Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication and Media Services. The changes are in Sections 3.4.4 to 3.4.8, 12.6.1.6 and 13 of the document. There is no change made to the other documents published on 5 January 2021.

Please note that all submissions must reach IMDA in the format as indicated below by 12 noon on 2 March 2021.

IMDA has reviewed the responses to the first public consultation published on 20 February 2019, and has issued a second public consultation to address the responses received and to consult on the draft Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication and Media Services (“Code”). 

The Code aims to promote fair and efficient competition, enhance consumer protection and improve regulatory clarity to encourage licensees to develop new and innovative services.

IMDA would like to seek views and comments from members of the public and the industry on its proposed converged competition code (“Converged Code”) for the telecommunication and media markets. The Converged Code will promote competition, enhance consumer protection and improve regulatory clarity to incentivise licensees to develop new and innovative consumer services.
