Singapore, 15 May 2002 | For Immediate Release

To provide greater regulatory transparency and industry understanding of the nation's radio frequency spectrum management and numbering plan, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has today, for the first time released two publications. Entitled "Spectrum Management Handbook" and "National Numbering Plan", the two publications provide a comprehensive reference to the policies, rules and procedures established by IDA in managing spectrum and number resources.

The Spectrum Management Handbook describes the various spectrum management activities carried out by IDA to achieve efficient and effective spectrum allocation and utilisation. Parties interested to apply for the use of radio frequency can refer to this handbook for guidance. The National Numbering Plan publication is developed to provide an overview of how fixed line and mobile numbers are managed in Singapore. Both publications feature detailed information on application procedures, fees, eligibility and conditions of use. IDA hopes that the two publications will further enhance industry's understanding of its management philosophy on spectrum and number resources, and guide service providers on how these resources can be used to meet their operational needs.

The two publications can be found on the IDA website, https://www.imda.gov.sg/ under the sections, "Policy & Regulation" / "Resource Management".
