The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has today released a request for feedback on the requirements specification for a full-service residential gateway1. This feedback will assist IDA in fine-tuning the requirements to ensure its relevance in view of market and technology developments. The finalised requirements specification will form the basis for the development of a reference design for the residential gateway.

This request is issued as part of IDA's on-going effort to encourage and accelerate the vision of the Connected Home in Singapore as mentioned in IDA's Infocomm Technology Roadmap Report released in March 2001. The residential gateway is a key component of this effort.

All views and comments should be submitted either via e-mail to techinit@imda.gov.sg, or in writing, and should reach IDA's Technology Direction Division before 5.00 pm on Friday, 8 March 2002. IDA will consider the feedback received and finalise the requirements specification thereafter.
