The Singapore Broadcasting Authority (SBA) and several Singapore companies will be actively participating in the Asia Television Forum (ATF) 2001 and Asia Animation (AA) 2001, both to be held from 5 to 7 December 2001 at the Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort.
ATF is the largest TV programming market in the region and the newly launched AA is a targeted exhibition which brings together an international market exclusively devoted to animation.
Endorsing its strong support for this premier broadcasting event, SBA is the platinum sponsor for both the Asia Television Forum Conference and the Asia Animation Conference. SBA will also have its own suite (Suite 742) to further its promotion efforts on Singapore as the premier broadcasting hub and to encourage collaborative efforts and co-production projects between local and international players. The suite will be a place for participants to find out more about broadcasting and TV production business in Singapore.
The Singapore companies participating in ATF/AA include broadcasters Media Corporation of Singapore (Suite 725) and SPH MediaWorks (Suites 726 and 757), production house Pagoda Pictures (Suite 744), as well as animation companies such as Pandora Interactive Studio (Asia Animation Stand A01), 7G Studios Inc (Asia Animation Stand A03) and Starts Corporation (Asia Animation Stand A10).

A Singapore Animation Showcase is initiated to coincide with the launch of AA and will be held on 6 December 2001 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, as part of the AA Conference. The Showcase will feature Singapore-made animation programmes for TV produced by three local animation companies: Pandora Interactive Studio, 7G Studios and Starts Corporation.
The profiles of the featured Singapore organisations at Asia Television Forum 2001 and Asia Animation 2001 are attached at Annex A.

ATF/AA - Featured organisations
Singapore Broadcasting Authority
SBA is the statutory board which oversees, promotes and facilitates broadcasting in Singapore. Its mission is to develop quality broadcasting and make Singapore a dynamic broadcasting hub. SBA initiates, participates and supports activities and projects that develops the broadcasting industry, including the co-production and marketing of TV programmes beyond Singapore.
Starts Corporation Pte Ltd
STARTS creates cartoon characters based upon the heritage of the Chinese culture. Its creative products include animated series, books, IQ training products, toys, and the like.
SPH Mediaworks Pte Ltd
SPH Mediaworks is Singapore's newest broadcast company and focuses its business activities on broadcasting, content creation and distribution, talent management, as well as related broadband Internet ventures. It launched its two free-to-air entertainment TV channels -TV Works for the English-speaking audience and Channel U for the Chinese speaking audience - in May 2001.
Media Corporation of Singapore (MediaCorp)
As one of Asia's most established broadcasters, MediaCorp is renowned for its internationally-acclaimed productions in Singapore's four official languages. To suit viewers of diverse tastes and preferences, MediaCorp's multi-genre programmes include comedies, variety shows, children's programmes, drama serials, documentaries and feature stories.
Pandora Interactive Studio Pte Ltd
Established since 1996, Pandora is an award-winning creative house reputed in the Singapore Internet industry. Its services include creative design and consulting, multimedia animation, application development, e-business solutions and new media content creation.
7G Studios Inc Pte Ltd
7G Studios is a creative boutique specialising in the conceptualisation and production of 3D animation, HDTV shows, videos, multimedia and web design. 7G Studios also designs and manages events, exhibitions and museums on a turnkey basis.
Pagoda Pictures Pte Ltd
A Film and Video production company, Pagoda Pictures was formed by several creative individuals well versed in the craft of screen advertising and programme productions. On its team are local and foreign photographers, writers, film directors and directors of photography, who offer a wide range of creative styles, for TV commercials, music videos, documentaries, and programmes of varied genres.
