The Media Development Authority (MDA) announced today the invitation for suitably qualified parties interested in providing a Subscription Television Service to participate in its public tender.
Currently, StarHub Cable Vision Ltd is the only subscription television service provider in Singapore. As announced in December 2002, competition in the pay-TV market will add "buzz" to the media industry, and open up new opportunities for collaborations and partnerships.
The tender exercise starts from 25 June 2003. Interested parties can purchase the tender document at S$78 (including GST) from MDA's main office at 140 Hill Street #04-01 MITA Building. Participants have three months to prepare their submissions, with detailed programming, commercial and technical plans. The tender submission must reach MDA by 12 noon on Wednesday, 24 September 2003.
The tender submissions will be evaluated on their merit, quality and attractiveness. The successful tenderer, if any, will be announced after MDA has completed its evaluation of the tender submission.
