The Media Development Authority (MDA) has commissioned this year's Junior College Tamil debate final, Sorsilambam 2004 (War Of Words), to promote the use of this second language and also showcase the wit and oratorical skills of our local students.
Anderson Junior College, the team for the proposition, will pit their skills against their opponents from Jurong Junior College. They will debate the motion, "Today's Fast-paced Lifestyle Is A Detriment To Family Togetherness", and vie for the title of debating champions. Popular Tamil TV news presenter S Anbarasan chairs the debate.
The MDA commissioned the debate final at a cost of $35,000. Organised by the People's Association Chong Pang Community Club Indian Activity Executive Committee and produced by Megastar Advertising Pte Ltd, Sorsilambam 2004 will be aired live on Vasantham Central on 1 May at 7pm.
