BACKGROUND

The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) is hosting the Asia Television Forum 2011 (ATF), one of Asia’s leading content markets. Held in Singapore, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre from 7 –9 December 2011, the event is expected to attract 3,500 participants from over 50 countries.

Singapore is represented by a delegation of 55 companies at the Singapore Pavilion, D02, where a Singapore Music Showcase, will be on display for the first time. This year marks the largest ever Singapore contingent;in fact, five times more than the previous year, showcasing the best of Singapore’s offerings in television, film and music production, animation, distribution and media services.

Singapore is presenting 75 Singapore programme titles, or more than 430 hours of factual, drama and animation content, for sale and distribution at ATF 2011

Asian Content Business Summit (ACBS)

MDA will be co-organising the 3rd edition of the Asian Content Business Summit (ACBS) from 8 to 9 December 2011, alongside ATF, together with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan (METI) at the Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore. This year’s theme is Building a distribution network for the Asian Content Industry.

ACBS is attended by key government and private sector players in the content industry in Asia. Its mandate is to create an understanding of the Asian media industry for information exchange and collaboration.

The first edition of ACBS was held in Japan in 2009; followed by another session co-hosted by METI and Ministry of Culture in Pattaya, Thailand in 2011.
