IMDA has put in place an array of initiatives designed to help infocomm and media professionals level up their skillsets and broaden their competencies.
The Academic Engagement Programme is an initiative by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) to support media-related research projects that add value to IMDA's work in policy formation and industry development.
National Cybersecurity Postgraduate Scholarship
The National Cybersecurity Postgraduate Scholarship, offered jointly by IMDA and National Cybersecurity R&D Programme, seeks to develop knowledge and skills in infocomm security.
Infocomm Polytechnic Scholarship
iPoly Scholarship application for 2018 is now open. The bond-free Infocomm Polytechnic Scholarship (iPoly) seeks to develop and better equip good "O" level achievers taking infocomm courses with the relevant skill sets and competencies.
National Infocomm Competition NIC
The National Infocomm Competition (NIC) is a series of infocomm-themed competitions to expose students to areas such as programming, mobile application development, networking, games design and data analytics. The NIC supports quality and impactful competitions which seeks to deepen students’ engagement and ICT skills in the areas of build, secure and analyse and is one of the most prestigious and largest network of ICT competitions in Singapore.
National Infocomm Scholarship NIS
National Infocomm Scholarship application is open and will close on 1 April 2018
Infocomm Clubs Programme
The Infocomm Clubs Programme is a Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) for primary, secondary and junior college students. It aims to excite students about infocomm in a fun and meaningful way by helping them to learn new infocomm skills and to cultivate leadership and entrepreneurship capabilities at an early age.
Industry Preparation for Pre-graduate (iPREP) Programme
The iPREP programme aims to prepare and equip pre-graduates with relevant skillsets and work experience to ensure a pipeline of industry-ready graduates. Pre-graduates will have opportunities to attain industry certifications, work on infocomm projects and interact with industry experts.
Film Mentorship Initiative
SFC also funds the cost of fees, travel and accommodation for media professionals in the film sector who have already gained admission into a renowned international film project lab.
Good ideas and stories are important as a first step to any strong media product or offering. IMDA helps companies come up with compelling stories and ideas that can be developed and subsequently, be ready for production.
Marketing Assistance helps media companies market their productions to their target audience and grow overseas demand for Singapore-produced content.
Talent Assistance provides funding support for the capability development of media practitioners, in line with IMDA’s policy intent to grow a strong Singapore core of media talents in a flourishing media industry.
SkillsFuture Study Awards for Media Sector
The SkillsFuture Study Awards for Media Sector equips Singaporeans with the skills needed to benefit from quality jobs created by our economy.
MOOC Pilot for Data Sciences and Analytics Training
To complement the development of Singapore manpower for Data Sciences & Analytics, the Data Sciences training course with Coursera will commence on 4th August 2014 with an enrollment of 200 Singaporeans that are interested in developing and/or enhancing data sciences skills.
National Infocomm Competency Framework NICF
The National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) is a national infocomm roadmap that helps infocomm professionals and employers to determine the types of skills and competencies required for various infocomm jobs and develop training strategies to acquire these skills.
Tech Immersion and Placement Programme (TIPP)
TIPP is an initiative by IMDA to convert non-ICT professionals, especially graduates from Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) background or other disciplines into industry ready ICT professionals and placed into tech roles, after undergoing an immersive training course or a mentorship and coaching programme. The training courses and mentorship programmes are delivered by industry practitioners.
Company Led Training Programme (CLT)
CLT is a structured development programme that aims to enable fresh and mid-level professionals to acquire specialist, expert or mastery-level competencies for jobs in demand by the industry, especially those that support Smart Nation projects, including cyber security, data analytics, software development, Internet of Things and network and communications platforms.
Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Programme Plus (CITREP+)
CITREP+ supports local professionals in keeping pace with technology shifts through continuous and proactive training. Through continuous up-skilling, fresh professionals and mid-career professionals may acquire or enhance technical skills sets which will enable them to remain relevant and productive in their careers.
SkillsFuture Study Award for the ICT Sector
The SkillsFuture Study Award for the ICT sector encourages Singaporeans to take ownership of their own skills upgrading, in order to deepen specialist skills needed by future economic growth sectors. Individuals who are keen to acquire new and/or deepen their tech skills and make a mark as an ICT specialist, will stand to benefit from the Study Award for the ICT Sector.
