The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has today received a total of three Initial Offers and accompanying Bank Guarantees, submitted from the existing mobile operators1. The Initial Offers confirm the bidders' commitment to participate in the auction, including the specific number of 2G spectrum slots each bidder is interested to obtain.

The parties who submitted Initial Offers to IDA are:
(a) MobileOne (Asia) Pte Ltd;
(b) Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd; and
(c) StarHub Mobile Pte Ltd.

IDA will review the submitted Initial Offers and Bank Guarantees for compliance with the requirements set out in IDA's Auction Rules. IDA intends to announce by 29 August 2001 whether the 2G Spectrum Rights auction  will take place.
