The Signing of the Second MOU between Singapore and Kuwait
Co-operation between the Republic of Singapore and the State of Kuwait reached a new height today as the two countries signed a second Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on e-Government co-operation. This collaboration follows the success of the first MOU signed last September, under which the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore had developed an Implementation Blueprint for the establishment of a new IT Entity and an e-Government Blueprint for the State of Kuwait.
The second MOU was signed today by His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Minister of Communications and Health of the State of Kuwait and Dr Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts of the Republic of Singapore.
The second MOU will further e-Government collaboration to include two areas of co-operation. Singapore will serve as an Advisor to Kuwait on Information Technology and e-Government matters. Kuwait and Singapore will also work together to select suitable private sector suppliers to implement projects identified under the e-Government Blueprint.
The first MOU was signed on 15 Sep 2004. The signing of this second MOU will further strengthen and enhance the friendship between the two countries and contribute to the socio-economic development of both countries.
