In a show of interest of Singapore-made products, local films 4:30 directed by Royston Tan and Love Story by director Kelvin Tong have been selected for screening at Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) in the ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ section. This section features 39 films from 14 countries and highlights the works of both established Asian masters and young directors with diverse styles and subjects.

The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and Singapore Film Commission (SFC) will jointly field their largest delegation of 8 local film, distribution and production companies, double the number from last year, at the inaugural Asian Film Market, Asia’s largest film market held in Busan, Korea. This psychological thriller, currently in development, tells the story of two desperate strangers, a young Chinese national and an older wealthy socialite, who soon turn into lovers.

Ms Julia Fraser of LeBrocquy Fraser, producer of Fallen, said, “We are extremely excited about being selected as one of the PPP projects at this years’ Pusan International Film Festival. It is a great platform to meet and discuss our project Fallen with industry professionals from around Asia, Europe and the US. We are also very excited about working with Lillian Wang on this project and presenting her talent to the PPP delegates.""

Commenting on Singapore’s presence in Korea, Mr Man Shu Sum, Director of Broadcast and Film Development, MDA and Director, SFC said, “The Asian Film Market is a key market to showcase the cinematographic creations of Singapore’s nascent but highly talented media industry. The exposure that local filmmakers and production companies gain from the event is important as Singapore stamps its growing presence in the Asian film scene.”

“We are confident that our productions, with their compelling content and unique multi-cultural tapestry of filmmaking, will be well received by film professionals”, he added.
