A new nine-member Board for the Telecommunication Authority of Singapore, has been appointed by the Minister for Communications, Mr Mah Bow Tan, for a two-year term effective from 1 April 1996. Mr Teo Ming Kian, who was appointed Chairman of TAS on 27 Oct 1995, has been re-appointed as Chairman.

Joining the Board are three new members. They are Mr Goh Liang Kwang, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Broadcasting Authority, Mr Heng Chee How, Chief Executive Officer of NTUC Club, and Mr Heng Swee Keat, Director of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education.

The other five Board members who have been re-appointed are Mr Lim Chuan Poh, Director-General of TAS, Mr Colm Martin McCarthy, Executive Vice President & Regional Manager, Bank of America, Prof Wee Chow Hou, Dean of The Faculty of Business Administration, National University of Singapore, Lieutenant-Colonel (NS) David Wong, Director of Ernst & Young Consultants Pte Ltd; and Mr Stephen Yeo, Chief Executive of the National Computer Board.
