The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) released a consultation paper on 22 June 2000, to seek comments from the industry and public on the proposed review of the Quality of Service (QoS) standards for broadband access services.

At the close of the consultation at 12 noon today, the IDA has received feedback from 5 industry parties and 3 members of the public. The consultation paper and responses received can be found under the "Policy & Regulation" section.

IDA will evaluate the comments received and make the appropriate modification to the proposed QoS framework. The target implementation date of the revised QoS framework is fourth quarter of year 2000.

The issuance of consultation papers is part of IDA's ongoing efforts to provide a platform for the industry and public to share their views on policy and regulatory matters, taking into account market trends and technology developments.
