Following the closing of comments on the consultation papers on the draft "Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services" and "Interconnection and Access in a Fully Liberalised and Convergent Environment" on 5 June 2000, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has today issued a revised draft of the Code for a second round of public consultation. This revised Code takes into consideration the comments and views received from the first consultation, and those expressed at the IDA's public forum held on 15 May 2000 to explain the draft Code.

To highlight the key changes in the revised Code and explain the rationale for the changes, IDA will be holding a public forum on the 6 July 2000. Those who are interested to attend the forum are invited to register with the IDA. Details of the forum and the registration procedure are outlined in the introductory cover section of the revised Code.

All views and comments on the revised Code should be submitted in writing to reach the IDA on or before 12.00 noon, 14 July 2000. IDA targets to thereafter issue the final Code by 1 September 2000.
