Singapore, 08 June 2000 | For Immediate ReleaseFor the first time, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) will participate in Streaming Media East 2000 organised by First Conferences Inc. To be held in New York from 12 to 14 June, Streaming Media East 2000 is the world's largest conference and exhibition for Internet content providers and businesses pioneering in the Internet and broadband multimedia exploitation. Showcasing about 125 exhibitors and 200 world-class speakers, the event is expected to attract approximately 10,000 visitors worldwide1.
Through Streaming Media East 2000, IDA seeks to establish a presence for Singapore ONE in the broadband and streaming media industry in the U.S. and promote Singapore as a choice launch pad to Asia. Besides showcasing Singapore ONE, the IDA booth will host Singapore ONE partners, such as Double Click Pte Ltd, Mediacorp Interactive Pte Ltd and Vivamusic.com. These companies will be exhibiting their leading edge broadband applications and services. To create a platform for local partners to meet and tie up with potential U.S. companies and forge strategic alliances for expansion into the regional and global broadband markets, the IDA has also organised a mission trip for this event. The participating companies include AlternateTV.com, E Island, 1-Net Singapore Pte Ltd, MediaManager and Pentafour International (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
