Singapore will be represented for the third time at IT.COM, a mega IT exhibition to be held from 28 October to 1 November 2002, in Bangalore, India. Led by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), the Singapore Pavilion will showcase exciting and innovative infocomm technologies and the business opportunities available in Singapore.
With the theme "Singapore - Your Partner in Asia", the Singapore Pavilion will feature nine Singapore-based exhibitors (see Annex A for the list of exhibitors). The aim of the pavilion is to encourage the fostering of partnerships between Singapore and Indian infocomm players.
Visitors to the pavilion can get a snapshot of the Singapore infocomm industry:
- Products and solutions for trade and logistics, legal, healthcare, e-government and insurance sectors;
- Solutions for internet access as well as value-added services such as co-location, hosting, and business recovery;
- Business and technology parks & facilities.
- Wireless technologies and solutions.
"Singapore has a vibrant infocomm environment with excellent infrastructure and the right eco-system. IDA is keen to have Indian infocomm companies that are developing products or have interesting intellectual property to use Singapore as a test-bed and a launch pad to global markets," said Mr Mohan Mirwani, Country Manager (India) at the IDA. "Furthermore, India software companies can partner Singapore companies to provide business continuity solutions to their customers," he added.
"IDA can assist with finding partners for these companies, such as those participating in the pavilion, to take on the domestic and the Asian markets. As India builds its infrastructure, Singapore could also be a valued partner to leverage off for innovative products and services development," added Mr Mirwani.
