Outstanding Organisations Invited to Join Honour Roll

Nominations for the biennial National Infocomm Awards (Awards) are now open. The Awards honour the best in Infocomm innovation in Singapore. The Awards are jointly organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) and will be the third time the Awards will be given out.

The Awards serve to provide a platform for recognising innovative products and services from Infocomm companies in Singapore and to give recognition to private and public sector organisations which have harness the capabilities of Infocomm technologies to improve their business effectiveness and efficiencies.

"Singapore is recognised to be in the forefront when it comes to using Infocomm technologies and there are many success stories. We want to affirm the Infocomm companies that are behind these successes and the National Infocomm Awards, being the definitive award for the Infocomm industry, is a good platform to do this," said CEO of IDA, Mr Chan Yeng Kit.

Mr Stephen Lim, Chairman of SiTF said "The Awards provide us an opportunity to seek out gems in the industry and showcase the best of breed. Many of the local Infocomm companies have established themselves as innovators of solutions and we hope to build international brand names amongst the winners of the Awards."

Benefits of Awards

Past winners have cited greater awareness and enhanced business image as some of the benefits. "Winning the National Infocomm Awards in 2004 has certainly helped raised the profile of e-Cop, not just in Singapore but also in our efforts to grow and expand globally," said Mr Eddie Chau, President and CEO of e-Cop, past winner of the Most Innovative Infocomm Product/Service category.

Award Categories

There are three categories for the Awards with up to three winners for each category. The categories are:

a) Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology (Public Sector) - This category will recognise public sector organisations that have invested in innovative deployment of Infocomm technologies and reaped significant improvements in productivity and overall competitiveness.

b) Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology (Private Sector) - This category will recognise private sector organisations that have invested in innovative deployed of Infocomm technologies and reaped significant improvements in productivity and overall competitiveness.

c) Most Innovative Infocomm Product/Service - This category recognises organisations registered in Singapore that has developed innovative Infocomm product(s) or high quality Infocomm service(s) in Singapore. The winning product or service should have conclusively demonstrated an important contribution to improved productivity and/or profitability.

Nomination Details

Nominations open today, 4 April 2006 and will close on 16 June 2006, 12noon. Nominations are to be made online at www.nia.org.sg. The winners will be honoured during a gala dinner in October 2006. More information is available on the Awards website.
