SBA Awarded ISO and People Developer Certifications

Dated: 7 November 2001

The Singapore Broadcasting Authority (SBA) received the ISO 9001 and People Developer Standard (PDS) certifications recently for its commitment to organisational excellence, staff-oriented work practices and quality management systems. With PDS certification, SBA's training and development systems are now benchmarked against national standards. Being ISO 9001:2000 certified also affirms that SBA's quality management system is on par with internationally recognised standards.

SBA was awarded the People Developer Standard (PDS) by the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (PSB) on 30 September 2001. SBA was also awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification on 29 October 2001.

It was a significant milestone for SBA to achieve both certifications within the same year, said Mr Lim Hock Chuan, CEO, SBA. He added, "We are honoured that our management system and staff development programmes have been ranked among the best locally and internationally. Receiving these certifications is just the beginning. We will continue to provide quality customer service and increase our corporate productivity and competitiveness."
