MDA funds recording of concert that highlights Malay music during the 40's to the 60's

The Media Development Authority (MDA) provided a funding amount of $60,000 for the recording of Simfoni Layar Perak. The programme which helps to highlight the quality and richness of Malay music during 40's to the 60's, will be shown on Saturday, 1 February, 8.30pm on Suria. 

Produced by MediaCorp Studios' EagleVision, Simfoni Layar Perak will bring viewers on a nostalgic journey through the golden years of Malay films and music. The concert held at The Esplanade last December featured the works of renowned composers and music arrangers like Yusuf B, Zubir Said, Wandly Yazid, Othman Ahmad, Ahmad Jaafar, P Ramlee and S Sudarmaji.

Media Development Authority (MDA) was formed on 1 January 2003 from the merger of Singapore Broadcasting Authority, Films and Publications Department and Singapore Film Commission. As the promoter and regulator of the media industry, MDA will work towards developing a vibrant media industry in Singapore and nurturing a Creative Media and Connected Society.
