MDA looks at how couples cope with marriage and family issues in new Malay drama

Dated: 15 August 2003

The Media Development Authority (MDA) has commissioned a 10-part Malay drama series Rahsia Perkahwinan (Secrets of Marriage) on marriage and family.

This social drama highlights problems faced by families today and lends insights on how one can try to avoid or overcome them. Two families, the Iskandars and the Farids grapple with pressing issues like financial problems, infidelity, divorce, pre-marital sex and child-raising.

Ms Amy Chua, Director (Media Content Division, MDA) says, "We are glad to support Rahsia Perkahwinan as the drama series conveys positive family values and allows us to appreciate the importance of keeping the family together. We hope that viewers will be inspired by the drama and learn how to better cope with marriage and family issues. MDA is pleased to have worked with Eaglevision and Suria on this production as Rahsia Perkahwinan presents a compelling story-line supported by a very good cast and an impressive original music score".

Produced by Eaglevision Mediacorp TV12, Rahsia Perkahwinan (Secrets of Marriage) is commissioned at $400,000 by MDA. It will be aired on Suria starting Wednesday, 20 August 2003 at 9.30pm.
