Meet otters, nudibranchs, seahorses, octopuses, flatfish and many other marine creatures one would hardly associate with cosmopolitan Singapore in Living Treasures, a new documentary series on Channel NewsAsia (CNA). Home to some 8,000 species of marine flora and fauna, Singapore's marine habitats are as biologically diverse as those found in the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas.
This 8-part documentary series, hosted by local news presenter Ms Glenda Chong, offers a glimpse of the rich and diverse marine ecosystems that thrive on the shores of Singapore. Each week, Glenda and nature guides explore the marine life found at marine habitats such as the inter-tidal flats of Chek Jawa, the reefs of Kusu Island, the rocky shores of Labrador Park, the sandy beaches on St. John’s Island and the mangrove swamps at Sungai Buloh Wetlands Reserve.
Suupported by the Media Development Authority (MDA) and produced by local production company, Big Communications, the documentary series features exclusive footages of Singapore marine habitats and many of Singapore’s marine species. Such rare footages were captured by a crew that included local experienced divers and underwater photographers.

Living Treasures debuts this Saturday, 4 February at 8.30pm on CNA.
