    Class Licence for Video Games Distributors

    Video game distributors/retailers are automatically class licensed for video games distribution. If you are a video game distributor/retailer, you do not need to apply for a class licence with IMDA. You are required to adhere to obligations relating to the class licence.

  • Film Distribution Licence

    Film Distribution Licence

    A Film Distribution Licence is required for individuals and entities distributing films and videos, unless exempted. From 1 July 2021, those who distribute films rated G, PG and PG13 are automatically class-licensed. There is no need to apply for a licence or register with IMDA for the class licence. Those who intend to distribute films rated NC16 and M18 would need to apply for a Film Distribution (Restricted) Licence to do so.

  • Film Exhibition Licence

    Film Exhibition Licence

    A Film Exhibition Licence is required for all entities that publicly exhibit films and videos rated NC16, M18 and R21. The public exhibition of films includes films streamed over the Internet or transmitted via commercial satellite links to a public audience. A Film Exhibition Licence is not required for exhibition of films and videos classified as G, PG or PG13, or if exempted.
