The symposium is organised by the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), which is a major research enterprise established by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It is the first entity in the Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) developed by National Research Foundation of Singapore (NRF).
Under the programme, “Mens, Manus and Machina” (M3S) is an interdisciplinary research group launched in July 2023 to apply AI and machine learning practically, addressing crucial questions related to technology design, human skill development, and societal adaptation in the context of AI, automation, and robotics.
Collaborating with Singaporean partners, SMART M3S seeks to enhance Singapore's AI policies, elevate its economic standing in AI, and contribute to local workforce training and mentorship on AI topics.
