Roy Ka-Wei Lee is an Assistant Professor at the Information Systems Technology and Design Pillar (ISTD), Singapore University of Technology and Design. He is a faculty of the transformative Design and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) programme.

Previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan, Adjunct Faculty at School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University, and Research Fellow at the Living Analytics Research Centre.

His research journey began at the Singapore Management University, where he had obtained the full suite of qualifications; Bachelor, Masters, and Ph.D. Degree in Information Systems, on fully-funded scholarships from the university. His research lies in the intersection of data mining, machine learning, social computing, and natural language processing.

He is particularly interested in studying user behaviours in multiple social networks, maintaining cyber social safety, and building next-generation social recommender systems for online social platforms.

Samuel Cahyawijaya is a passionate AI/NLP researcher and a dedicated member of the technical staff at Cohere, where he plays a key role in advancing the multilingual capabilities of the Command family of language models, including the state-of-the-art Command-A series.

His research centers on multilingual and cross-lingual aspects of large language models (LLMs), with a particular emphasis on bridging the performance gap between high-resource and low-resource languages.

Samuel is also a member of the Board of Trustees of SEACrowd, an open-community initiative committed at empowering Southeast Asian AI research on the global stage.

He holds a PhD in Electronic and Computational Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and has authored over 80 research publications in top-tier conferences and journals with notable contributions including IndoNLU, IndoNLG, NusaX, NusaWrites, NusaCrowd, Cendol, SEACrowd —key initiatives that support the development and evaluation of Indonesian and Southeast Asian language AI technologies.

Carlos is an early career researcher from Samsung Research Philippines transitioning from an 8-year career as a full stack developer.

His research interests lie in Human Computer Interaction. More specifically, he is interested in how the human mind interfaces with computing artifacts such as chatbots, video games, and wearables, and how he can use that knowledge to better design and develop those systems.
