The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) will, for the first time, host CommunicAsia2000, the region's premier info-communications trade show and conference. The IDA is also co-ordinating and leading the largest Singapore Pavilion in show history, as well as the largest country pavilion this year. Forty-four companies, including Agilis Communication Technologies, DataONE (Asia), The Edge Consultants, StarHub and Singapore Computer Systems, will showcase leading edge technology and applications to an expected crowd of 30,000 international trade visitors. Another first in CommunicAsia's show history is the Asian Infocomm Roundtable, to be held on 6 June, 2-5pm at the Singapore Expo. The theme of this closed-door session is "The Internet Revolution in Asia-Pacific: Fact or Fiction". At this session, senior government officials from Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam will engage in dialogue with industry representatives on the issues, challenges and opportunities surrounding the regional Internet industry. ChungHwa Telecom, Compaq, Ericsson, Kent Ridge Digital Labs, Motorola, Nokia, 1-Net Singapore Pte Ltd and Pacific Internet are some of the industry participants at this dialogue session.
