Singapore, 6 March 2002 | For Immediate Release

The main judging panel of the first National Infocomm Awards announced today 16 finalists in two categories. The awards were established to stimulate and celebrate the spirit of innovation in the local Infocomm Industry. By recognising companies who have created innovative Infocomm products or put Infocomm technology to creative use, the awards aims to inspire others in the industry to embrace the spirit of innovation in their own companies.
Judges commented there is no lack of creativity in local Infocomm companies. Of 347 nominations received in two categories, finalists (in no order of merit) in the categories of Most Innovative Infocomm Product / Service and Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology are:

Most Innovative Infocomm Product / Service

1. GridNode Pte Ltd
2. Systems@Work Pte Ltd
3. Muvee Technologies
4. InfoTalk Technology (S) Pte Ltd
5. Nixvue Systems Pte Ltd
6. Sunderland Technologies Pte Ltd
7. Fairex International Financing Systems
8. Fuji Xerox Singapore

3. Singapore Police Force
4. Supreme Court
5. INSEAD / ICUS Pte Ltd

8. Seagate Technology International

Led by Mr Lam Chuan Leong, Chairman of IDA, and a panel comprising prominent local and foreign figures in the infocomm industry, the judging panel will reconvene in March to decide on the top winners.

The finalists for the awards will be evaluated based on their innovativeness, type of technology deployed, scale of implementation, market presence and value impact. Winners of both awards will be announced in an Awards presentation ceremony in April 2002.
