An industry veteran of 20 years, Ms Tham Ai Chyn will join IDA Singapore on 26 June 2006 as the new Assistant Chief Executive (Industry and Cluster Development). Ms Tham will oversee the Industry Development and the Cluster Development functions at IDA. Specifically, she will champion the harnessing of infocomm technologies to drive the digital transformation of key economic sectors in Singapore. She will also oversee efforts to grow the infocomm industry. Ms Tham will report directly to Mr Chan Yeng Kit, Chief Executive Officer of IDA.

Ai Chyn joins IDA at an exciting time as we embark on the next phase of infocomm development in Singapore, which aims to build Singapore into an Intelligent Nation and Global City by harnessing infocomm technologies," said Mr Chan Yeng Kit, CEO, IDA.
Ms Tham is currently the CEO of NCS Communications Engineering Pte Ltd and CEO of NCS China Office. She brings with her over 20 years of experience. In NCS, Ai Chyn had varied responsibilities, including overseeing an e-Trader product unit. She was also the NCS Project Director for the Singapore Government's Public Service Infrastructure (PSi) programme. As the Assistant Chief Executive (ACE) of the Justice, Security and Finance cluster of NCS, she was in charge of the business development and delivery of services to the Government and commercial sectors.
Prior to joining NCS, Ms Tham had worked in Tandem Computers (S) Pte Ltd, the then National Computer Board (NCB), and Singapore Telecoms.
Ms Tham graduated from the University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering. She also completed the Stanford Business School - National University of Singapore Executive Program in 1998.
