About the Infocomm Media Clubs Programme
IMDA’s Infocomm Media Clubs (IMC) Programme provides an enriching CCA (Co-Curricular Activities) experience for IMC members across Ministry of Education (MOE) primary and secondary schools and junior colleges, as well as the Millennia Institute. Students interested in technology and media will benefit from joining an IMC, where they can strengthen their tech and media skills, learn about emerging technologies, and gain industry exposure.
IMC Programmes
The curated programmes and activities in the following 5 pillars are aligned with MOE’s CCA LEAPS framework and provide opportunities for club members to obtain CCA points:
LEARN
IMC members undergo broad-based training in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), game development, and mobile app development, and have access to bootcamps and accelerators to deepen their learning.
DISCOVER
DISCOVER provides IMC members with real-world learning experiences that showcase how tech and media technologies are used in different industries.
EXCEL
EXCEL provides a national platform for IMC members to learn, excel, and be recognised through IMDA’s annual tech competition.
SERVE
IMC members will have opportunities to serve in their schools and the community through tech and media centric SERVE Values-In-Action (VIA) projects.
LEAD
IMC student leaders will be equipped with leadership skills through LEAD workshops and an exclusive student leadership conference.
LEARN: Enriching tech and media courses
Under the LEARN pillar, IMC members will undergo training in various infocomm and media domains such as AI, game development, and mobile app development.
LEARN has two training modes:
DISCOVER: Learning journeys outside the classroom
IMDA has curated bite-sized learning journeys for IMC members to interact with professionals in various tech and media companies to strengthen their understanding of the real-world applications of the different technologies they are exposed to.
Since 2022, IMDA, together with our tech and media partners, held more than 330 learning journeys on topics such as immersive media, AI, drones, eSports and content creation.

EXCEL: National Youth Tech Championship
IMDA’s annual tech competition - the National Youth Tech Championship (NYTC) – provides a platform for IMC members to learn, excel, and be recognised for their achievements.
The NYTC is jointly organised by IMDA and Google Cloud for secondary schools’ IMC members and is part of IMDA’s IMC programme to inspire interest and deepen the learning for youths in deep tech. This year, NYTC returns bigger and bolder with a stronger focus on AI and coding abilities with 300 students from over 60 Secondary schools participating.
Over six weeks, student participants progressively developed AI skills, learned to code in Python, and acquired machine learning concepts, as well as media skills such as content creation. As part of their training, the teams received guidance from Google engineers. They also had the opportunity to take home a drone and attend virtual training sessions for additional learning.
The top teams battled it out in an AI drone derby where they demonstrated strong AI and problem-solving skills, agility, resilience and teamwork to fly their drones autonomously through a “ninja warrior” inspired obstacle course. Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital Development and Information, who was the Guest-of-Honour at the grand finals, stood alongside friends and families of the participants to show their support for the teams.
