Code for Fun (CFF) Enrichment Programme



Code for Fun Enrichment Programme (done jointly by IMDA and MOE) is offered to all MOE primary and secondary schools to increase students’ exposure to coding and computational thinking. 

The programme includes academic learning of related concepts using visual-based programming language, such as Scratch, and combining it with robotic kits, such as Lego WeDo, MoWay, and microcontrollers, such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi, to create a coding experience for the student.

Objectives


The CFF Enrichment Programme aims to:
  • Facilitate the exposure of coding and computational thinking to a large base of students; and
  • Help build an entire generation of workforce inculcated with basic coding and computational thinking skills

Programme Milestones


Year
2014Pilot trial commenced in April 2014 and received great response with participation from 24 schools.
 
2015/2016IMDA rolled out the programme to more than 110 schools in 2015 and 2016, benefitting 34,000 students in the process.
2017CFF Enrichment Programme to be extended to all primary school levels (i.e. Primary 1 to Primary 6). Syntax-programming will also be introduced to secondary school students to widen their exposure on different forms of coding tools.
