IDA has received requests from the industry to further extend the deadline for the submission of comments to the public consultation on "Proposed Allocation of Spectrum for International Mobile Telecommunications ("IMT") and IMT-Advanced Services and Options to Enhance Mobile Competition". The deadline shall be extended and all responses must now be submitted to IDA by 5pm, 19 June 2014.

IDA has received requests from the industry to extend the deadline for the submission of comments to the public consultation on "Proposed Allocation of Spectrum for International Mobile Telecommunications ("IMT") and IMT-Advanced Services and Options to Enhance Mobile Competition". The deadline shall be extended and all responses must now be submitted to IDA by noon, 10 June 2014.

With the projected growth in mobile data consumption and IDA's vision to establish Singapore as a 'Smart Nation' that is underpinned by high speed wireless and wired networks, it is essential to ensure the allocation of spectrum is able to support the continued development and growth of the mobile sector. Therefore, IDA would like to seek the views and comments from the industry and members of the public on proposals to optimise the use of radio spectrum and to introduce further competition in the mobile market.
