RisingWave

RisingWave Labs is a database technology company focused on making real-time data processing simple, powerful, and affordable for every organisation. Founded in 2021 by a team of veteran database researchers and engineers from companies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, LinkedIn, and Uber, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with a globally distributed team.

Its core product, RisingWave, is an open-source distributed streaming database and real-time event streaming platform. Built in Rust and compatible with PostgreSQL, RisingWave allows users to build streaming data pipelines and applications using standard SQL, rather than complex low-level stream-processing code. It adopts a cloud-native architecture with decoupled compute and storage, enabling elastic scaling and significantly lower total cost of ownership compared to traditional streaming systems.

RisingWave continuously ingests data from sources such as relational databases, message queues, and IoT systems, incrementally processes it with sub-second latency, and maintains always-fresh results in materialized views. It also offers native integration with Apache Iceberg, enabling organisations to unify real-time processing with modern lakehouse architectures and keep Iceberg tables up to date with continuous streaming ingestion.

Enterprises across financial services, e-commerce, advertising technology, manufacturing, logistics, and other industries use RisingWave to power monitoring and alerting, real-time customer 360, trading and risk systems, IoT telemetry analytics, and streaming ETL into their data lakes and warehouses.
