The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has received four applications from parties interested to participate in Singapore's 3G Spectrum Rights auction. Today marks the closing date for the submission of application forms from interested 3G bidders, following IDA's release of the final 3G regulatory framework and auction rules on 8 March 2001.

Applications were received from the following parties:

  1. Expert Asia Limited backed by Sunday Communications Limited;
  2. MobileOne (Asia) Pte Ltd;
  3. Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd; and
  4. StarHub Mobile Pte Ltd.

IDA will assess the applications and announce the parties who will be eligible to participate in the 3G Spectrum Rights auction, by 2 April 2001. The 3G Spectrum Rights Auction is scheduled for 23 April 2001.
