100 Women in Tech Power Singapore’s Digital Future as Nation Marks 60 Years

  • Record Girls in Tech nominations signal rising ambitions as pioneers lead the way

SINGAPORE – 29 AUG 2025

1. The fourth edition of the SG 100 Women in Tech (SG100WIT) list was unveiled today at the Tech3 Forum 2025 by Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital Development and Information and Patron of the Singapore Women in Tech (SGWIT) movement. Organised by the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) and supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the SG100WIT list is a flagship initiative under the SGWIT movement that recognises and celebrates women who are driving innovation, leading transformative tech projects, and shaping the nation’s digital economy.

2. This year's list celebrates 100 outstanding women professionals alongside 25 young talent under the Girls in Tech category, recognising female students aged 13 to 35 who demonstrate exceptional passion for STEM and are applying technology to make a difference in their communities. The unveiling of SG100WIT 2025 reinforces the role of inclusive leadership in future-proofing Singapore’s digital standing.

Women at the Helm of Singapore’s Digital Transformation

3. Themed “Empowering Yourself, Inspiring Others”, SG100WIT 2025 received a total of 635 nominations, including a record 110 nominations for the Girls in Tech category – the highest since the category’s launch in 2021. This milestone signifies young women’s mounting interest in pursuing technology careers, reinforcing SG100WIT’s goal in inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.

4. This year’s honourees span the breadth of tech leadership in Singapore, from Chiefs of AI and Heads of Technology Innovation to Directors of Cybersecurity steering high-impact initiatives across public and private sectors. Many are distinguished alumni, professors, and researchers at leading higher education institutions, bringing expertise in AI governance, digital forensics, national security systems, blockchain, semiconductors, and computational science. Their work stands at the intersection of traditional and emerging sectors — including law, healthcare, construction, and space tech — exemplifying Singapore's robust pipeline of homegrown female tech talent driving cross-disciplinary innovation.

5. As Singapore celebrates these women leaders in technology, we also recognise emerging talent, with this year's Girls in Tech category attracting significant interest. The 25 young achievers come from across local schools, polytechnics, universities and ITE. These female students are leading women-in-tech initiatives, heading student societies, or founding startups, all while pursuing their studies. Their achievements stretch beyond coding, encompassing STEM, AI, computer science, and robotics, echoing the innovation of today’s leaders while strengthening Singapore’s pipeline of female tech talent.

6. Mrs Tan Lee Chew, President of Women in Tech Chapter at SCS and President, Smart City & Digital Solutions at ST Engineering, shared: “SG100WIT is a celebration of women who are boldly shaping what’s next, not just through innovation, but through purpose. They’re leading with courage, designing with care, and building technologies that improve lives. Their impact inspires all of us to raise the bar.”

7. Ms Dorcas Tan, Chairperson of SG Women in Tech and Cluster Director, Human Capital Cluster at IMDA, added: “The achievements of this year's honourees and the record number of Girls in Tech nominations highlight the tremendous progress women leaders are making in our tech landscape. From AI to cybersecurity, women are driving advances in deep tech and shaping Singapore’s digital economy. These role models create a powerful multiplier effect, inspiring the next generation to see technology not just as a career choice, but as a platform to shape our nation’s digital future.”

8. SCS and IMDA offer their warm congratulations to all the honourees.
