The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) released a consultation paper on 7 January 2002 to seek comments from industry and public on the revised policy framework for the international settlement regime for the provision of international telecommunication services.

At the close of the consultation at 12 noon today, the IDA received several responses. The consultation paper and responses received can be found under the "Policies & Regulation" section. The IDA thanks these respondents for their comments.

IDA will consider the inputs received and make its policy decision thereafter. IDA will target to announce its policy decision by the second quarter of 2002.

The issuance of consultation papers is part of IDA's ongoing efforts to provide a platform for the industry and public to share their views on policy and regulatory matters, taking into account market trends and technology developments.
