Equipment Registration Framework

This framework outlines the procedures and requirements for the registration of telecommunication equipment for sale and use in Singapore. Details are given in the document entitled "Guide for Registration of Telecommunication Equipment".

Compliance to IMDA Standards

IMDA regulates the use of telecommunication equipment in Singapore based on standards that specify the minimum technical requirements for the equipment. We also set and monitor Quality of Service (QoS) to regulate the performance of key services offered by operators, ranging from basic telecom to mobile and Internet access services.

The primary purpose of the labelling and advertisement requirements is to facilitate the easy identification of telecommunication equipment which is approved for use in Singapore.

The importer shall ensure that telecommunication equipment imported for individual / company own use complied with the relevant IMDA technical specifications, i.e. Line Terminal Equipment Standards or Radio-communication Equipment Standards before use.

Equipment Registration

Telecommunication and radio-communication equipment to be sold for local use in Singapore is subject to equipment registration with IMDA. Prior to registering the equipment with IMDA, please ensure that the equipment complies with the relevant IMDA Standards/Technical Specifications.
