IMDA regulates the use of telecommunication equipment in Singapore based on standards that specify the minimum technical requirements for the equipment. We also set and monitor Quality of Service (QoS) to regulate the performance of key services offered by operators, ranging from basic telecom to mobile and Internet access services.
Telecommunication Equipment Labels and Advertisement
The primary purpose of the labelling and advertisement requirements is to facilitate the easy identification of telecommunication equipment which is approved for use in Singapore.
Requirement for Import of Telecommunication Equipment
The importer shall ensure that telecommunication equipment imported for individual / company own use complied with the relevant IMDA technical specifications, i.e. Line Terminal Equipment Standards or Radio-communication Equipment Standards before use.
